Chandrayaan-2
India on 22nd
July 2019 successfully launched its second moon mission chandra-yaan-2 from its
most powerful rocket geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle GSLV-MkIII-M1
dubbed as bahubali lifted-off from the second launch pad at the spaceport into
the cloudy skies at 2.43 pm and successfully placed the 3850-kg chandrayaan-2
into the earth orbit about 16 minutes later.
The
orbiter will orbit the moon at an altitude of 100kms and carries five
scientific instruments out of which three are new and two others are improved
versions of those used in chandrayaan-1.
